One thing I learned today at VON was that AOL has just launched "In2TV", a service offering you free viewing of older TV shows.... the home page seems to be circulating through "Welcome back Kotter", "Eight is Enough" and "Alice"... but the list is quite longer.

Interesting move... and free, of course, to fight back against iTunes. I was intrigued to see my favorite series, Babylon 5, as well as the old "V" series that I well remember watching.

Fascinating to see all this movement in the TV space.

This just in from Amazon.com:
We've noticed that customers who have purchased "Babylon 5: The Gathering/In the Beginning (Widescreen)" have also ordered "Friends: The Complete Tenth Season". For this reason, you might like to know that "Friends: The Complete Tenth Season" will be released on November 15, 2005 on DVD.  You can pre-order your copy at a savings of 30% by following the link below.
Huh?

So because I happen to like an incredible extremely-literate science fiction saga, I would also be interested in a banal, silly half-hour sitcom that traces the superficial activities and relationships of six friends?  And that has an insanely annoying laugh track to boot?  (Just in case you didn't realize you were supposed to laugh the show must provide a stimulus to make sure you laugh.)

Sorry, Amazon, perhaps the stats are there for you... and it's a fascinating linkage... but the connection just isn't there for me.
