 Learned from my mother today that the annual Great Backyard Bird Count begins tomorrow. It's a project of Audubon and Cornell designed to take a snapshot of bird counts across the continent. Basically, for four days you take 15 minutes and count how many birds you see in your backyard - and then report that on their website.
